The Allen County Hazardous Materials Emergency Planning Committee also serves as the federally mandated Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).

Members of the Allen County LEPC are nominated by the Board of Allen County Commissioners and appointed to two-year terms by the State of Ohio Emergency Response Commission (SERC).

The Allen County LEPC meets the third Thursday of every even month (February, April, June, August, October, December) beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the American Red Cross, Allen County Chapter House, 610 South Collett Street in Lima. All meetings of the Allen County LEPC are open to the public.
